TUNNELVISION
2023 video installation
This project explores how focus shapes perception, inspired by the concept of tunnel vision. Using a simple tube and reflective film, I created a tool that amplifies the center of an image while blurring its edges, mirroring how our attention can narrow and distort reality.
Birds became a recurring symbol – representing mindfulness and the fleeting nature of moments. Filming them was grounding, yet also revealed how focus can turn into fixation, a duality reflected in the abstract sequences of vibrant colors, shifting clarity and patterns.
The installation invites viewers to experience this interplay of attention and perception – how focus can clarify, obscure or transform the way we see the world around us.
