47 PERCENT │ book and teaser
47 PROZENT is a book project about mindfulness, inspired by Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now and a Harvard study revealing that we spend nearly 47% of our waking hours not being present. Recognizing this pattern in my own life, I created this project for young people as part of my journey toward greater mindfulness in daily life.
An excerpt from the book:
"You are so rarely here and hardly ever present in the now, where your real life is happening. You constantly distract yourself, never doing things mindfully enough. Your mind is always elsewhere. You give your inner voice, your ego, control over your thoughts, emotions, and therefore your actions. You search everywhere, but only look outside yourself. You want to be happy now, yet keep pushing your happiness into the future. Tomorrow everything will change, right?"
The white hardcover with its blind embossing is deceptive – beneath it hides visual chaos that mirrors our daily mental wandering between past ruminations and future worries. Structural elements dissolve page by page, with text blocks serving as anchors.
The book transforms into a process: Moving from visual chaos to typographic tranquility, it mirrors the path from unconsciousness to mindful perception. It invites readers to examine their beliefs and reveals that genuine fulfillment comes not from endless pursuit, but from mindfully experiencing the present moment.
The teaser brings the book concept to life through moving images – from sensory overwhelm to mindful moments. Rapid cuts and overpowering visuals gradually transition to quieter sequences that encourage mindful awareness.
